Competition is rivalry between a few companies fighting to gain market share. For example there are lots of different types of gossip magazines like Closer, OK, Hello, New and more. This means that there is competition between the companies. The companies will lower prices, make it a weekly issue that consumers can rely on and target a specific audience that they know will buy the magazine. These magazines will be sold in all shops including supermarkets and newsagents, these are common places to sell them because this is where consumers go everyday. If my music magazine were to be sold, I would sell it in these places at a reasonable price. However I know that I would have competition because of the other music magazines that are distributed all over the country. In order for my magazine to sell I would need to have a unique selling point that no other magazine would have, therefore consumers would buy my magazine.
