A documentary film could be known as "a factual film which is dramatic" or it could be that the documentary stands out from other  types of non-fiction films. Documentaries stand out because they provide an opinion and a specific message along with the facts it presents. The specific message depends on different types of documentaries. For example "Super Size me" this documentary was made to show people about the fast food industry, and how bad it is for you.

"Documentary Practice is the complex process of creating documentary projects. It refers to what people do with media devices, content, form and production strategies in order to address the creative, ethical and conceptual problems and choices that arise as they make documentaries."

Documentaries show reality which is what we are going to do when we start to film "People in London". We will be filming different types of people to show how diverse London really is and what goes on everyday that we don't see.
