I have taken a few shots from a film recently released called Shrooms. It's genre is a thriller/horror. The film is about a bunch of university students that cmap in a forest and take some magic mushrooms and end up seeing things that they don't know whether they are real or if it is just the mushrooms.
First Shot
This shot is a medium close up of a young girl who is picking a magic mushroom. The girl looks very vulnerable in the way her body language is and the fact that she is biting her lip, and looking at the mushroom implies that she is convincing herself that what she is doing is okay. She hasn't got a lot of make-up on which also indicates a certain innocence about her and that her hair is a bit messy and down.
Second Shot
This shot is a long shot which shows a man and a cow. This is a hallucination that the man is seeing and talks to it. The fact that the producer decided to use a cow indicates a funny side to the film, as you wouldn't necessarily find a cow in a forest.
Third shot
This shot is of a young girl lying down. The fact that the camera is above her creates an effect which shows that she is not in control. By the camera work shown which is blurred and her arms are by her head which shows she is having an illusional dream, by the way she is moving side to side and the camera blurring it creates a dramatic effect from the shrooms.
Fourth shot
This shot symbolises the effect that the drugs are having on the girl. It allows the audience to choose what emotion the girl is going through it is obviously quite deep, as it shows her eye so close up we can see the eye watering. It also shows the audience the girl's innocence by her blue eyes, which show her vulnerability and that she has been through hell.
Fith shot
This shot is of a young girl lying down in bed which again shows that she is not in control because of the way the camera is showing a high angle making her look vulnerable. The effects of the shot show the drugs have taken over her body and the audience will be able to see this through the shot of her face.
