Q Magazine

The magazine has decided to feature this band, The Killers, as they have become very popular recent and are growing in popularity. The layout is very simple and appropriate consisting of six columns. A main picture is used at the centre of the double page which both attracts the readers attention and also informs them of the members of the featured band. Pull quotes and drop caps are used to break up the block text. The website and logo at the bottom is a advertising mechanism to remind readers to visit their website and to generally remember the magazine. The font used in the article is easy to read and makes the spread look neat and clean. The language used in the article is quite in depth and very informative about the band. The image used is very consistent with the other images used in this particular article. The bands name is 'The Killers' and in this image they actually have dressed up and are using props which make them look like killers.


MOJO Magazine

The theme for this particular issue of MOJO magazine is the celebration of Motown records. Hence they've put together a top 100 Motown songs list. This double page is the beginning of the list. Basically introducing the list and it features a piece of text from American rock star, Iggy Pop. The layout of the spread is very plain and simple. The first page uses a black background which isnt common for a magazine however it catches attention. The opposite page is an image made of LP covers and disks illustrating legendary singer, Stevie Wonder. The image is also relevant to the article. The colours used are also very warm colours consisting of yellows and oranges which is appealing.


VOGUE Magazine

This spread is for VOGUE magazine. It is extremely simple but seems to have an appealing effect. It doesn't follow a column setting and three quarters of the spread is made up of an image. Also the page is only busy around the centre. The spread delivers a message about what trends to expect for autumn. The use of a very simple and bland background is to show off a creation of a dress. The dress is very bright and striking and stands out in the light background.
